Buy Nothing New Month is a campaigned championed by Keep Britain Tidy. They are calling for people to boycott Black Friday and the culture of impulse buys that goes along with it.
Instead, you can waste less, make the most of the stuff we already own, and cut your carbon footprint by buying nothing new – excluding essentials like food and medicine – throughout November.

World Vegan Day was founded by the UK Vegan society. It is a day to celebrate and further promote veganism with all its positive aspects.

National Bison Day is celebrated in the US on the first Saturday in November each year. It is an annual celebration of the significance of the American bison.
It began as part of a campaign to have the Bison recognised as the National Mammal of the United States. The Bison has been recognised as the national mammel since 2016.

The basking shark is classified as endangered due to a period of intensive hunting in the last century from which they are struggling to recover. Basking sharks are threatened by a variety of things including changes to their food source through increasing sea temperatures and climate change.

World Fisheries Day was established to draw attention to the importance of healthy oceans ecosystems and to guarantee sustainable stocks of fisheries in the world. It also highlights the challenges fishers face while out at sea.

The European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) is the biggest campaign to raise awareness about waste prevention in Europe. It aims to raise awareness about waste reduction, product reuse and material recycling strategies across Europe.

The Jaguar is the largest of America's wild cats. International Jaguar Day was created to raise awareness about the increasing threats facing the jaguar and to highlight the critical conservation efforts ensuring its survival from Mexico to Argentina.
