The Green Board Game Company

The Green Board Game Company is a British company that makes educational games in an environmentally conscious way. Its boardgames are made from from recycled and recyclable materials and wood from managed forests. All the games are tested in schools, toy libraries and family environments.

Alpha Animals

Their first product is still popular today, because it is a brilliantly simple game; Alpha Animals requires the players to name an animal in a category (mammals, birds, fish, insects, crustaceans, reptiles or amphibians) whose name begins with a letter of the alphabet of the square they've landed on. It won the Good Toy Guide Award when it was launched in 1991. Find it at Amazon.co.uk.

Blokus

Blokus is another award winner, twice voted game of the year. Another brilliantly simple game of strategy where you try to get as many of your pieces onto the board as possible, connected only by their corners. Available at Amazon.co.uk.

Egyptians

Experience the glory of ancient Egypt with Eygyptians. Imagine you have been transported back to the age of the Pharaohs. Your goal is to become Supreme Pharaoh by defeating your rivals on the way. Included are over 200 questions about this glorious period of history. Find it at Amazon.co.uk.

Picdoku

An unusual take on the Sudoku craze is Picdoku, played with animals and symbols and offering five different levels making it suitable for all the family. Made with 90% recycled cardboard and paper, it can be played again and again, unlike the puzzle in your daily paper! Available from Amazon.co.uk.
