Vintage Recycling – It's A Lark!

The simple idea behind Lark Made is to provide beautiful, joyful things for children. The sweet, quirky products all adhere to founder Allison Jones’ dream of offering hand-made children’s products fresh and contemporary yet imbued with the vintage imagery of her childhood.

Allison Jones established Lark Designs in 2004, inspired by her love of homemade crafts and vintage children’s book illustrations. Moving to Australia in 2006, she now works hand in hand with ‘crafty helpers’ both there and in the UK, as well as an established Fair Trade organisation. With hand-made, quality, ethical, stylish and fun being the core values of each Lark product, their aim is to make you smile.

From the fabulous badges, mirrors and hair accessories made from vintage book, comic and fabric scraps, the delicious knitted cupcakes and ice-creams, to the gorgeous clothing range inspired by homemade children’s clothes of the 1950’s-70’s – each product exudes delightful vintage charm.

But Lark Made products aren’t just a pretty face – behind every fun and lovely creation lays a socially and environmentally responsible background;

  • Apart from some of the printed goodies, every Lark product you find is affectionately handmade by skilled makers from the UK, Australia and lovely ladies employed by Lark’s Fair Trade partner in Asia.
  • With many of their items being made from discarded materials recycled into something new, you can be assured that not only are they environmentally friendly, but brilliantly unique.
  • Lark use a minimal amount of packaging, opting simply for recycled board and biodegradable cellophane when necessary.
  • Their aim is to introduce more organics into the collection. Lark already use natural fabrics throughout their range and the dyes in their children’s knitted toys have been tested to meet the strictest safety standards.
