Brits Feel Guilty Over Non-Green SinsShame over eco-friendly living strengthens our resolve for a greener 2008Brits feel massively ashamed of their resistance to eco-friendly living. Research released today reveals that 4 out of 5 are feeling so guilty about not being as green as they could be that they have already made ethical new years resolutions for 2008. Even though there is room for improvement, this research shows that the warnings are slowly sinking in and as a nation we do have a conscience when it comes to being environmentally friendly. The research conducted by Saab unveiled the top three non-green guilty sins. Number 1 is being wasteful with energy consumption in the home with almost a third admitting they could save more than they do. Taking public transport instead of walking came second, which perhaps shows our lazy streak. Cleaning with non-environmentally friendly products took third place, suggesting we are not thinking before buying from companies who aren't as committed to being green. The survey also shows women are green goddesses leading the way to a cleaner future. 3 in 5 make all the major decisions and encourage their partners to be more environmentally friendly. The Government aren't managing to have quite the same amount of influence with only 6% of people leaning towards greener habits due to their initiatives. It's vitally important for our future that we get up to speed on environmental issues and lead the most ethical lives possible. Brits Would Rather Go Green Than Go Abroad
