Can You Be A Litre Beater?Wessex Water is challenging customers to conserve water in the garden this Spring as part of its Litre Beater campaign. And it's water saving suggestions are good for all of us in the UK. Water consumption has increased by 70% over the past 30 years. The Litre Beater campaign challenges everyone to see how much water they can save by making slight changes to their daily habits. Luke de Vial, Wessex Water said: “We all know how precious water is. Even though we haven’t had a hosepipe ban (in the Wessex region) for 30 years and certainly don’t anticipate any problems this year, it is still vitally important to conserve water wherever possible. “We see water conservation as a year-round issue. Our Litre Beater campaign reminds customers to think about water conservation at different times of the year and not just in the summer when water stories tend to hit the headlines.” Spring has finally sprung and customers across the region are venturing out into their gardens to enjoy the longer, lighter evenings. The pack contains the Litre Beater guide to saving water, useful tips for green gardening and a water hog for your toilet cistern which saves one litre of water every time you flush.
