The Hampshire Food Festival 2009

Runs all through July 2009 - many events are free!

Beat the recession during this year’s Hampshire Food Festival (1st – 31st July) with over 25 free food and farming events throughout July, plus plenty of free prize draws and special offers to save you money! With over 140 different events to choose from at dozens of venues across Hampshire throughout the Festival, 26 of these are free and a further 18 cost £5 or less per person to attend.

Free events include The Hairy Bikers celebrity chef demos at Festival Place in Basingstoke, a guided tour and wine tasting at Wickham Vineyard, cookery demos at Winchester Hampshire Farmers’ Market, Southsea Food Festival, entry to The Winchester Food & Produce Show, a smokery demo and free tastings of smoked foods at Durley, a tour and beer tasting at Southwick Brewhouse in Fareham, Riverford Organics summer party at Sutton Scotney, a seasonal salads cookery demo at Greens restaurant in Wickham, ‘Crafty ways with wool’ demos at Whitchurch, an orchard walk and tastings with Hill Farm Juice in Swanmore, and a food trail around Burley in the New Forest.

Eight free prize draws in the Festival programme and at www.hampshirefare.co.uk include the chance to win a luxury two night break at Tylney Hall Hotel in north Hampshire, all the fresh fruit and veg you can pick in two hours at Durleighmarsh Farm in Petersfield, a bespoke kitchen garden design worth £1500 with Francoise Murat (for Hampshire residents), the chance to be a brewer for a day at Ringwood Brewery, lots of lovely Hampshire produce, and for children, an afternoon with the chefs at Winchester Hotel du Vin!
