Recycle Week returns for 2018 and this year's theme is Recycling. We do. Because it matters.
Recycle Week began in 2004 to encourage more people to recycle and to celebrate the importance of recycling rather than simply sending unwanted items to landfill.
This year's campaign will have a special focus on plastics recycling.
Introducing the theme, WRAP said: “This year, Blue Planet II motivated people to care about plastics in a way they never have before.
“Sustainability is now firmly on the national agenda and the public is looking to organisations to help solve major environmental issues. That makes Recycle Week a greater opportunity than ever to change people’s recycling behaviours whilst gaining positive publicity and building your organisation’s reputation.”
According to WRAP, the theme is designed to capture attention and put across “simple but important messages” about why recycling matters. Partners will have the opportunity to bust myths and demonstrate why recycling plastic is beneficial.
